Hey guys,

I am looking for a decent Sub and would welcome all suggestions: My current setup as follows:

Onkyo HT RC270
Definitive Tech Pro Center 1000 - Center
Energy CF 70 - Front Left and Right
Energy CF 30 - Surround
Definitive Tech Pro Monitor 800 - Surround Back
Polk Audio PSW10 - Subwoofer

I know I have a very mixed setup now with the Polk, Energy and DT but I am just starting and am wiling to hear any recommendations. FYI - I am looking to replace the DT Central with a Energy CC10 too. Thanks!

I guess that makes sense.. lol thanks!
I would be looking at subwoofers from SVS:

But their least expensive model is over your maximum limit.

What many people do is buy something with which they are not satisfied, due to having a limited budget, and they end up later on spending the money anyway as they want something better. And since selling off used gear typically causes one to lose money, in the end, they would have saved money if they had just waited and purchased something good in the first place, and they also typically would have the money for the better item sooner, as the money they spent on the cheaper item could have been the start of their saving for the better item. In general, good speakers (which includes subwoofers) are a good investment, as they make the most difference for how everything sounds, and they also do not need to be upgraded every time some new feature or audio format comes out. Receivers, on the other hand, are things that people often feel the need to replace, even though the old one works fine, but they just want some new features that were not previously available. That does not tend to happen with speakers so much.

I know this from experience, as I have wasted some money in the past, though not nearly as much as many people do with this hobby. Save your money for something really good, so you don't feel the need to replace it later on, and you will save money in the long run, and have the good thing sooner than you otherwise would have it.

I have yet to hear a subwoofer that is inexpensive that I'm fond of. I think that the low end of what I have heard that I've been pretty happy with is the Epik Legend...

There are likely more around this point, but I think that would make someone happy if they've never had anything of that caliber before. Subwoofers, unlike many other speakers, just tend not to sound to good until you get to a certain price point.

My current setup:

ONKYO HT RC270
Sonance Sonamp 260
Energy CC 10
Energy CF 70 x2 FR/FL
Definitive Techs Pro Monitor 800 x4 SL/SR and SBL/SBR
Onkyo SKW 204

I am using the Sonance Sonamp 260 to biamp the CF70s. I am more then welcome to all suggestions and upgrades. As you see I need a new sub and was considering the HSU SF-2 and eD A2-300. Which one should I get??

What do you guys think of the eD A2-300?? How is it compared to the HSU SF2?

Thanks a ton guys!!
