Hi I'm new here, looking for advice on speakers.

 I'm setting up a home theater system and I'm looking for opinions and/or suggestions. Currently I'm considering the following speakers set ups:

  1. JBL Venue series (Stadium x2, Arenax x4, Voice x1, & Sub12 x1)
  2. Boston Acoustics CR series (CR67 x6, CRC7 x1, and PV700 x1)
  3. Velodyne CHT Front row system (center & 6 bookshelf) & DPS12 sub

Has anyone had any of these systems and have any comments?

Thanks,

First off, how did they sound to you? That's the most critical question to be answered.

Judging the sound

Well, I've heard the JBL Venue series and also already have a set of previous version Velodyne surround speakers. They all seem to sound very good, but mostly different in the higher frequency range. The JBL's have the titanium-laminate tweeters, so they sound pretty unique. However the sound in a store is hard to compare to the way they will sound in your home. :(

I'm really looking for anyone whose had any of these speakers, and what they think of them. Or have previously compared them with others. I'll be using them in a (approx.) 15'x30' room (about 8' tall ceiling). One wall is brick with a fireplace, and the others are wood, flooring is currently carpet, but will soon be hardwood. Not sure if this info will help or not.
