I was looking for an area to discuss headphones...

And there isn't a dedicated forum :(

I know that most people prefer discussing the dynamics of their speaker set ups and the like... but I usually listen to music on headphones, and thought it would be kind of nice to have an area dedicated to the discussion of various brands and opinions of said brands? I'm sure there are also plenty of people that have questions regarding headphones... seeing as there is a large variety available... :D

Any chance of adding one?

There really isn't much to discuss IMO. Selecting good headphones isn't all that difficult and the General AV section needs to have something to talk about.:)

Basically there are 3 types of headphones,

On ear, over ear, in ear.

In Ear or IEMs are the best for noise isolation if you buy the other type for that purpose you need your head examined or you are very particular about your inner ear.

If you want a great pair of IEMs. Get these. http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-Isolator-Earphones-Black/dp/B000BQSGMM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1243258814&sr=8-1

I own the more expensive overpriced version. LOL:)

I can't hear my co-workers with those.:)

In ear headphones... I have the Sennheiser HD280's, as suggested by some people here... and then I have a pair of Koss UR40's (for kicking around... I don't dare take the Sennheisers out and about :p
