Why on earth would you get a PS3 and a Samsung BD-P1400? Do you need two BD players?

Well I already own the PS3. I'm going to use that just for gaming.
The other BD-P1400 for movies

I think you could get a lot better performance for the money with SVS or HSU for your subwoofers.

Have you auditioned the BP7000SC? Your thoughts? What did you audition them against?

I already bought the DefTech Stuff, I got almost 50% off retail.
I think I paid $750 buck on each SuperCube Reference sub.

I have not heard the BP7000SC yet, I sold my BP7001SC and upgraded to the DADDY. I'm assuming they will sound better than my 7001's

that's not a bad price at all if you had space/aesthetic restrictions.

otherwise you could have had a killer 1500 dollar sub or two great 750 dollar subs from other brands. :)

The PS3 is a kick a** BR player, I would save your money and upgrade your receiver to a an 805,875 etc.

Just my 2 cents, Enjoy your new system, should be awesome.

If that's the case then I would get the Samsung BD-UP5000 which will play both the PS3 and HD DVD formats. It's a nice hedge against who eventually will win the format war....

Why would I want to upgrade to the Onkyo 805 or 875?

And the reason I want the Samsung and the Toshiba is so I can have the DTS Master Audio fully decoded in all available channels. I heard the new samsung will only decode the DTS MA in 2 channels only!

There is no reason :) don't let people make you second guess your choices. Since you have an external amp don't bother with the higher end Onkyos (this is just like you second guessing your amp ;)). Save that money for acoustic treatments - I promise, you will need them for maximum fidelity possible with your speakers. After all Floyd Toole didn't dedicate years researching loudspeaker-room interaction cause it doesn't exist.

That looks like a great Christmas present!

I wish Def Tech dealers offered upgrade options--- like trade in your old Def Tech gears for credit towards the new ones!:D

No doubt, that would be awesome. I have some stuff I would like to upgrade myself, but I have no extra money in my HT account. My next purchase will be a 73" Mits. DLP.

That 73" Mitsubishi DLP will be so sweet!

Yeah, I think that 73" MIT will be my next purchase too, which will be next Christmas. My HT Piggy Bank is seriously in the Reds.:)
