I am trying to refurbish some old Transmission Line speakers and was hoping someone with much more knowledge then myself could help me with replacement drivers.
The speakers are Phase Research RT-R Tower speakers from a company in Texas, purchased in 1981. The tweeters were Audax TW034X0 and woofers were 8 inch unknowns with what the literature says with transmission line is equivalent to 24inch woofers.
i have the complete brochure on the speakers and thier design, so if somone could private message me to help, i can send them all the details.
thanks

We get this question often. Reverse engineering speakers is next to impossible.
If you change drivers the whole crossover has to be redesigned and new ones built.
It is unlikely your TL design was optimal anyhow, due to date. Prior to 2000 TL design was hit and miss and took a lot of trial and error plus experience.
If you want a TL, I suggest you start from scratch. If you don't want to DIY then you can look at the
PMC range which are all TL, and highly recommended.
Then there is the excellent
Thor kit.
What is wrong with your original drivers anyway?
