I just recently got a 65 Inch DLP HDTV. I recently got hooked up with DirecTV Premium Package + HD Channels. I most recently I have bought a PS3 (60 GB). I've been looking into setting up some kind of high quality surround sound system. In my research I've seen Processors, Receivers, Speakers, etc. I was wondering with my TV and Playstation and HD Receiver (From DirecTV), what investment should I make next?

TV Specifications
2 HDMI Inputs (1 Currently hooked up to my PS3, and the other currently hooked up to my HD Receiver from DirecTV)
PC DVI I Input
2 Component Video Inputs
IEEE 1394

Here is a link to my exact HDTV:

How much do you want to and/or are you prepared to spend for that high quality surround sound system?

You...

...would be well advised to visit this sites' homepage and click on the "What To Buy" icon...Systems for $1k to $25K are included...and you can go even higher...however as markw pointed out, the budget is your call...

There's virtually an infinite number of combinations out there, don't you?

Yes quality and sound are the main concern not money!!!
That's a totally bullshiite answer and your question will most likely (or at least should) be ignored, don't you?

Crazy,
I would recommend budgeting a minimum of $1500 for a decent 5.1 bookshelf speaker system and receiver. Obviously you can spend more money for a bigger sub, floorstading speaker, receiver w/ HDMI etc. Post some more specifics like your listening preference, room size, etc.

5.1 speaker and sub package: $1k
Check out the SVS package or the Onix X-LS speakers from AV123.com

7.1 Channel reciever w/out HDMI: $400, Yamaha RX-V659

DVD, CD, SACD, and DVD-A source: $150, Oppo DV970HD
You could always use the PS3 as a BluRay, DVD, and even CD source, but a seperate component might be more convenient.
