I have a Velodyne DLS subwoofer with right and left input and output,(RCA).
I am trying to connect it to a proton 5 channel preamp which I am using as a stereo preamp only. There is one sub out connection on the proton...No right and left. Just one output(RCA).
Should I run one cable from the preamp and then use a Y connector to the
right and left inputs on the sub? Do I need to connect anything to the outputs(RCA) on the sub? I think I'm making this too complicated. Any help would be appreciated!!!!:)

A signal connection into the sub should be fine, be it left or right. Some subs, like my Hsu VTF2 have an auto on function. Using a one into two splitter so both the left and right connections on the back of the sub are connected, helps to make sure the signal is strong enough to activate the auto on during low volume. Otherwise one RCA is fine.
