hi,this is my first post and hope you guys can help me out in here please.....im very new to home theater,i own a yamaha YHT-F1500 6.1 out of a box system and im thinking about replacing the sub....i havent listen to too many home theater so i dont really know how good my sub is compare to the one i want.The one i have is not bad for movies but when it comes to anything loud it dosent gets loud,is it b/c it only have 70watts?will it make a difference in higher power?
So lets say for example,if i change my sub with the svs $400 sub will it be a upgrade?
from what i read in here seems like the svs gets fairly good reviews,im looking for a $400-500 sub or anything better out there for that price?
Anywayz here my real newbie question.

1.Im using a monster cable it have a head like the rca cable,my concern is what if the sub is using one of those split wire that have 2 ends then is there a male to female sorta thing to connected?

2.Is there any way i to hook my yahama sub and the new one at the same time?or should i not even thing about it?

I know you will definitey see a wonderful improvement. I have not heard the PB10 (Which is the sub that is in your price range at $429) but I own a PC20-39+ and it is wonderful. I have seen test results on both the PB10 and plus series and the PB10 is an excellent performer. You need to look at what area you are trying to fill with bass though. So how big is your room? The PB10 will definitely be a huge improvement but you may get the PB10 in there and have it for a while and start to wonder what more would be like. SO if you think that is true you might want to wait a little longer and pony up for one of the bigger models.

In the four hundred dollar price range, the PB10 is the winner for HT. Make sure you have the space because this guy is pretty big. Does the receiver in your HTIB have a dedicated sub out? Most do, just checking. If it did not the PB10 could not connect to the receiver.

The PB10-NSD is definitely an upgrade and you'll want to use your current Monster sub cable. Don't even bother trying to also use the Yamaha sub, you won't need it unless you have a large space. In which case you'll want an even bigger sub anyway.

The SVS will blow the yammy out of the water, that is a promise. The Yamaha systems have dedicated sub outputs, so you are good there. I would look to upgrade the speakers next, as I had them once and they aren't very good even in HTIAB standards. Go to SVS's website and look at the system package, very well priced and a good performer. I would even upgrade to the Insignia NS-B2111's at Bestbuy, excellent bookshelf speakers for $40-50 a pair, and they look nice.

sound like pb10 is the one.My rooms is a standard living room size i say about 7 x 3 foot,I know i dont need the yamaha sub but dont want it to go to wase so what would i need to connect both sub?
