This is probably a cable question but may cross into other areas.

I have spent alot of money on a Home Theatre PC and Projector & I already have a 2 Home theatre sound sytems I bought in the 90's.

The problem is they are only dolby pro logic, the one I want to use is the Bose lifestyle multi zone system. the sytem has a control centre which has a 6 stack cd wich steroe rca inputs only. there are 2 8pin mini-din outputs to the Acoustimass bass modules which then rca to the 5 speakers.

The Owners guide has a pin diagram which shows what does what.
1. variable left
2. variable right
3. fixed left
4. fixed right
5. audi ground
6. +10v control line
7. smart speaker data
8. control line ground (abd remote antenna)

Can this be splice to 6 rcas to plug into my PC or DVD or any other decoder?
Or can anyone think of a better solution??
I think the new Bose mediacentres may still use the 8pin but they are very expnsive, and highly unlikly I could get just the control centre.

I would be very greatful for any help, Ive been scouring the net for days.

Want to fix your problem? Get rid of the Bose system. For the same money you could have a system that blows away the Bose. :D In fact I say smokes it in sound quality and performance. Just my Opinion.

Your best bet is to call Bose and ask them. They use proprietary connections to make sure consumers don't "integrate" other audio components into their mix. Bose doesn't have a great deal of respect around audio forums, thus the reason you may be having a tough time finding info.

Well the problem always comes down to money.

The system was a gift from my Mothers divorce I was never thrilled when I heard it at her house but its all Ive got atm. I will have to wire up the home theatre im building for the Bose and a conventional setup. or
I have a JVC amp with Sherwood floor fronts (these sound great) and Kenwood centre & rears but it too is 1995 and no 5.1 just pro logic.

The Sanyo Z3 front projector im buying has a $150 (109.975 USD) option of a Sanyo DCTS780 with 300w RMS to throw in but will that just give me a 3rd crap system?

If I used my exsisting speakers I may be able to squeeze out another $1000.00 ($733.165 USD) for a amp and sub (stuff the budget). The sound is more for my wife after too many Metallica type concerts im no longer an audiophile.
