Help with yamaha 2nd zone

I have a yamaha rx v667 in my house and running a second zone on it with no issues. I got the same receiver for my parents, hooked up all their components in the closet and for some reason can't get the 2nd zone to work. I know it can't work off hdmi in zone 2 so I hooked up a composite from the comcast cable out to audio 1 on the receiver. I then turned on 7 ch + 1zone in configuration settings (also made sure back2 surrounds were turned off). Then clicked zone control on the receiver and set it to audio 1. I am not getting anything at all. Is there something I'm missing here?
I may try turning on the tuner on the receiver and see if that works at all?
I was wondering if the cable box needed to be told to output hdmi and composite.

Obviously you know that not everything output to zone 2 but trying the tuner is a good step because it for sure would output to zone 2. After that you should refer to the owner's manual to find out exactly what will and what won't.

Have you try tuner yet? Again, you already know that zone 2 can only work with analog inputs, so no HDMI, no digital coax or optical, just analogs.

You may want to read page 85 to 100 and make sure the volumes are set to default values (P.85).

I haven't tried yet because its at my parents. I'll have to go there to try it.

I tried running the second zone off the receivers Tuner. Nothin. The only thing I'm thinking of are the terminals on the back of the receiver Are small maybe it's not making a good connection? Any thoughts

I just want to be sure I'm doing this right. I have the main zone source set to tuner so its playing the receivers Radio. The second zone is hooked up to speakers. In order to play the receivers radio in zone 2 What do I put the source to on the zone 2 control?

Got it working in zone 2 for tuner but still no luck off the cable box.

Not sure about yours, but many receivers secondary zones can only be via analog input.
