Help with what to look at

I realize that the best thing to do is go out and listen to a broad array of speakers and go with what sounds best to you, but I'd like some help on where I should probably be looking.

First off I'm running a Denon 2105 reciever, Klipsch KSW-12 sub, and a set of Sony towers, center, and rears. Room is carpeted and 15' x 15'. Since I purchased the Denon (to replace a 5yr old Sony) I've been listening to music more-so than using the set up for home theatre... thus I'd like to get some speakers that are more oriented towards music.

I haven't spent much time going around and listening to speakers, but I have had a chance to listen to some Klipsch and Infinity systems. Probably the closest to what I want (in terms of sound) has been the Infinity Beta 50's.

I'm interested in spending 1500 - 2000 on towers, center, and rears. Any input on the quality of beta's, or advice / suggestions on other speakers is quite welcome.

Thanks
Jason

Infinity makes some nice stuff. Other brands to consider (in no particular order):

Axiom
AV123 (Rocket)
Paradigm
Energy
PSB
Phase Technology
BIC/Acoustech
Polk
B&W

This is all I can come up with right now. All of the manufacturers make speakers in your price range.

Look through these.

Read Audioholics review on this page. Scroll down to the speakers in the system.

I'll second the Mordaunts. They are excellent speakers. They can also be found for good pricing at www.ac4l.com Some prices are better than those listed at the other site, and AC4L is an authorized dealer (not sure if the other is or not). Take a look at their package deals too, sometimes they have great deals on a full set.

I installed a full set of 900 series in a customer's room that was 18x15 powered by an Onkyo 601 and it sounded great.

Also check out www.ascendacoustics.com and www.av123.com

Yes. Wild West is authorized to sell every product they sell. I bought from them. Top notch. Remember, total price with shipping. Not sure about the shipping from other site. But, definately buy from the one with the best deal. :D

Well thanks again for the help. I was able to go and listen to some B&W 603's, and actually one from the 800 series . It's worth mentioning that I used a Van Halen CD to demo. Anyway, to my ears the B&W's sounded kind of dead in different regions of the mid-bass; though I did love the upper range sound. I also listened to a set of Klipsch RF-5's, obnoxious high's, I can't tell you about the rest of the sound field.

I wasn't able to listen to a lot of the speakers that were suggested simply because I didn't have the option, but I did find my solution in a set of Polk Monitor 70's. The sound is simply amazing (for my own tastes). Strong, but not overly bright highs, mid-range that hits you in the chest, and the low end blends in perfectly with the sub.

I've been listening to music for the past 3 days and haven't even bothered to turn on a movie, I don't see that changing any time soon.
