help with tx-sr508

just bought bose surround sound acoustimass 10 series 5.1 speakers and initially bought a sony reciever and sounded like crap. Returned it and purchased the tx-sr508, only have it one day so far sounds 10X better, however I cannot get the initial setup to calibrate do to using 5.1 and not 7.1The Audyssey 2EQ mic set up works on the front two speakers then the center and cannot find the back when it starts on the right side back. Finds one and then stops saying error unable to continue would I like to retry? How do I set it up to find only 5.1 system?

The speakers have to be connected directly to the receiver. With Bose Acoustimass setups the 'bass' module is connected to the front two speaker outputs of the receiver and the rest of the speakers are connected to the bass module.

Therefore the receiver only sees two speakers.
