This is my first time on this forum, I was wondering what people thought about 4 subs I had in mind for my ht in my 2100 cu sq ft basement room? The 4 I'm trying to decide from are the svs pb 12 plus, klipsch sw115, hsu vtf-15 and the psa xv-15.
Thanks for all your help

The PB12-Plus would be the highest performer from that bunch, as well it should be as it is the most expensive. The VTF15h would be the next highest performer. I would say if you can afford the PB12 Plus, you can probably also get the Rythmik FV15HP, which would have a big performance advantage over any of those for not much more money. The FV15HP's performance is on the level of the SVS PB13 Ultra. Next to that, I would get a VTF15h, it is so close in performance to the PB12 Plus that it may not be worth spending an extra $400 for the Plus. As for the XV15, it isn't on the level of these subs, it is competing more with the VTF3 and PB2000 contrary to PSA's absurd claims of its performance. The SW-115's performance hasn't been measured yet, but I wouldn't expect much from it. On the other hand, I have heard of very good street prices on the SW-115, so it might be worth considering if you are on a tight budget and know how to bargain.

Of those, go with the SVS. Not only is it a great performer for the money, SVS has a good warranty and great customer service. You can't go wrong with SVS.

I would go with the hsu, I have dealt with both svs and hsu and prefer hsu, just like there stuff, a pretty nice line up, but the pb is also a very nice sub....

Shady you red again? its like a roller coaster, you change colors more than I change socks...

I have a similar HT room at 2100 cu sq ft (14'W x 18'D). I had some tough choices to make (and sleepless nights) thinking about which brand to go with. Look at the reviews and listen to the advice from others on this site. Overall just go with your gut feeling and you'll be happy with your choice. I went with the Rythmik FV12 and never looked back. Probably room accoustics and layout aid in my situation, but it really pounds!!! When I built the room, I fully insulated all the walls/ceiling and nailed rubber dampners to the studs. I keep watching War of the Worlds (chapter 5) and it is killer subsonic bass!
