I can find very little information about the Energy Veritas 1.2 other than it was released in 97' and had a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter (it's probably a bookshelf speaker).
The Vandersteen 1C does have rubber surrounds and features an 8" woofer and 1" tweeter. I used to have a pair of Vandersteen 2Ce towers and I loved how they sounded. The 1C should be a fine speaker however, when asking if something is a good deal you might tell us approximately how much they are asking. An exact number isn't necessary because who knows, we might find what you are talking about and snipe ya! j/k!
Value also has a fair amount to do with condition as well. You'll notice the 1C towers on audiogon have already sold and were in pretty good condition. $325 is a little higher than they usually sell for, at least as far as I've noticed, but not a bad deal for a good quality floor standing speaker system.
