Help with Rear Surround In-Wall Placement

Hi, I am looking for some advice. I have a rectangular room and I am installing some Klipsch In Wall RCW-5's for my rear surrounds.

My dillema is whether I put them behind me, pointing into the room or on the side of the main couch. My feelings are if I put them in the rear, people sitting in the middle of the room will be able to hear them better. If I side mount them on the wall won't it just benefit the rear couch and not the other seats in the room? The speakers do have pivoting tweeters so I could point the sound as well. Also, do you have a recommendation for height? This is what i am thinking- Rear Wall- Center of Speaker 6' high, aiming tweeter down toward listening area.

I have a really nice JPEG of my room layout, but I don't know how to post it, I could email it to anyone who wants to check it out.

Thanks so Much!

Jeff

That's the way I'd position them if your rear sofa's close to the rear wall. You'll also want them fairly wide apart and don't pivot the tweeter down too much.

Positioning

Who will be the main listeners and where will they sit?

If the main listeners sit primarily on the back couch, then I would suggest ear level at the sides would probably sound best.

If youare the primary listener, i would focus on where you sit and what sounds best too you. If there is an additional chair more central or you want to try to accomodate the best room sound for all seating postions, then your idea of back wall sounds good.

with correct sound level callibration, you should be able to make either side wall or back wall speaker placements sound good.

You can try pivoting the tweeter towards the outer walls, some maufactures recommend it. As for general location +1 on the suggestion/tought.
