Help with Paradigm setup

I am trying to put together a setup for home theatre / music. Currently I am thinking of Studio 100's, CC470 (or should i go with the CC570, still debating) and ADP470's powered by a Rotel 1056 amp. Any suggestions on the configuration? Also anyone know anywhere that I can get a good deal on the whole setup? The current quote I have is about $2000 for the Studio 100's but I am trying to find em cheaper if possible.

Unfortunately I can't afford the sub now, so that will have to wait... :(

I also read on the forum about the Paradigm v4's being released but their website does not seem to have much info on it yet. Can anyone tell me what the differences/improvements in the new version will be for the above speakers? Or point me towards a useful url?

Thanks!

The information you keep hearing is in regards to the Monitor line not the Studio line. Dont worry the Studio series is not being updated yet. Paradigm Reference and Paradigm are two different divisions of the same company.

In regards to your setup I would try looking at the Studio 60's and getting the Rotel 1067 amp instead. Much better receiver to my ears. The 100's are efficient but like big amps to sound there best.

I've got the 100's and love 'em. I'm using a Denon 3805 to power them, but Glenn is correct about them being power hungry...I'll be adding an amp eventually. I'd recommend the 570 over the 470 if you can swing the extra $$$. I listened to both and definitely preferred the 570 mated w/ the 100's. I've got the ADP-170's pulling surround duty for now, but I'll be picking up the -470's to replace them. The final relics of my Performance setup...:D

I think you'll be very happy with this setup.

I've been thinking about it and here are my thoughts.

The 470's have combined bass and midrange driver. The 570's have dedicated drivers for bass and midrange. I was thinking there won't be much of a difference when the bass is taken over by the sub. Is this correct or will the 570's just sound better, period.

As for the amp I don't think I can afford anything else now :( my budget is stretched tight (its actually way over). But my plan is to add a Rotel RB-1070 (120 x 2) for the front channels later using the pre outs.

I'm not trying to be difficult, but the 570 is a center channel speaker (CC-570) as is the CC-470 (the 570's smaller brother). The ADP-470 is the latest and top-of-the-line Reference surround. I think you're confusing the 570 for something that might be bought in pairs because you keep referring to "them" in plural terms. I just though I'd clear that up. :)

depends on the use.. for HT(all other things assumed to be equal), it will give better separation to have a mid-range, even with the sub doing the bass work. mid-range is more directional than bass so a speaker with a true mid range will "place" HT sounds more precisely than a combo speaker making woof noises at the same time.. you won't really help the bass with the three-way speaker, but you will help your HT.

Sorry about that, I guess I didn't phrase that correctly, I did mean the CC570 which is the center.
