Help with Panasonic home theater system

I have a panasonic SA-HT 680 and have a confusing problem. My buddy pressed "disk check" and all the disk slots (5) came out of the system and on the display it said please wait. That's it, they all stayed out, won't go back in, and i can't change modes or use the system in any way except to change the volume or change the sound modes and other things that do me no good if it's not working. Anybody have any ideas? I really didn't think that this system would come with a self destruct button built in. I hope somebody can offer me some insight.

First, welcome to the forum!

Second, punch your buddy. He owes you a six-pack.

Third, have you tried hitting the "disc check" button again?

I'll try to track down the manual to it, but I thought that I'd ask that while I'm looking.

Tell your buddy if he touches it again.

It sounds like you accidentally entered some kind of diagnostic mode and it appears locked up because it is actually waiting for further input from you (some magic sequence of button presses to reset it).

- You could try unplugging it over night and then plugging it back in. It may cancel whatever mode it is in when disconnected from power for awhile.

I also found this which may or may not be applicable:

And, as a last resort after all the suggestions posted have failed, is to call Panasonic:D they better know the answer to your question. :D
