Hello all. I'm new to this, so a little help would be appreciated. Here is my setup:
Equipment
TV – Sony 52W3000
Receiver - Onkyo SR 705
HD Cable Box – Scientific Atlanta 4250HDC
BR Player – Sony PS3
HDDVD – Undecided (something that will play .avi files would be great along with upconverting to 1080p)
The Onkyo receiver has 3 HDMI inputs, so I know that I can plug the PS3, Cable Box, and HDDVD Player to it, and then of course run the single HDMI out from the receiver to the Sony w3000.
My main concern is that I would like to be able to use the cable box, ps3, and hddvd player without the receiver during late night viewing/gaming.
What is the best way to do this? Do I have to run separate audio and video cables from each device to the tv?
Something like this:
Scientific Atlanta – HDMI Out to Onkyo 705/ Component Out to Sony W3000 + Audio Out to W3000.
PS3 – HDMI Out to Onkyo 705/ Component out to W3000 + Audio Out to W3000
HDDVD – HDMI Out to Onkyo 705/ Component Out to W3000 + Audio Out to W3000
Any info or advice would be sincerely appreciated.
