I just peiced together my home theater system and i'm looking for some advice.

I have a 73" Mitsubishi diamond series DLP
Onkyo TX-SR605 reciever
Infinity TSS-1200 5.1 speaker system
Xbox 360 elite w/HD DVD player
PS3
HD cable w/ DVR

I used the included audessy microphone that came with my reciever to tune my speaker system. I'm running into some issues with the playback quality when I use my PS3 or Blu Ray movies, when I play games of movies on my xbox the quality is amazing but when I switch over to the ps3 the sound quality drops big time. Everything is connected via HDMI cables. Any advice?

Make sure PS3 is setup correctly for HDMI

Make sure you have go through setup on your PS3 for HDMI audio and higher screen resolution.

Power on your Onkyo and Mitsubishi first. Then have the PS3 automatically detect the settings by going from power-off on the PS3 and holding down the PS3 power-on button for 5 seconds until the red power off light comes on again. Then power-on and you should be in the HDMI audio/video mode.

When the PS3 defaults to HDMI, the audio also goes through HDMI. If your you are routing the PS3 HDMI to a pass-through receiver or directly to the TV you may not be getting sound to you receiver. In that case if you want the audio to got to the receiver for Dolby 5.1 you have to manually go into the setup menus for sound and select Dolby 5.1 optical output and be connected by optical cable.
