My grandson played with my Denon today and now I have this problem: my satellite, tuner, and dvd all have perfect sound numbers; however, my cable is very, very low. What happened and how do I correct it (other than spanking my sweet little boy).

Welcome to the forum!

How is the audio from your cable connected to the Denon? Is it through your TV? If so and you are using variable analog audio outputs to make the connection (like I used to do), it might be that the volume on the TV was turned down.

thanks

I connect it thru the tv to tuner and the first thing I tested was the tv..........it has all the bars filled and not on mute:confused:

Hmmm. Do you have a surround sound set-up? If so, perhaps your grandson turned off the front speakers. That might explain it depending on which surround modes you are using for each of those inputs.

That's a long shot, but I'd say give that a check.

If you don't have your owner's manual handy, you can download it from Denon at the link here. It explains how to turn the front speakers on and off on page 34 (it's a single button push, so your grandson could have easily done it by mistake).

Seriously, I have no life.
Did you check the volume setting on the cable box?
