Help with Monolith connections

I received the Monolith 7 and although the reviews reported that it did not have XLRs connection the one I received did have. It also came with one RCA connector for each channel so I am a bit confused because all the amps I have ever owned came with + & - connections for the preamp. So what is the best way to connect my Marantz 8802A to this amp?

Simply connect either 7 rca cables or 7 xlr cables between the preouts on the 8802a to the Monolith's inputs. The XLR connections are a new feature, and one I believe they charge more for, so a slight bonus since your pre-amp already has XLR pre-outs. Both rca and xlr have the +/- connections in the ports/cables....

ps As to which, what cables do you have on hand? If there's a long distance between pre-amp/amp or you have some noise issues then XLR may offer a better way to go...

Monoprice sells perfectly good quality XLR cables in various lengths. While not a make or break issue for sound quality, if I had XLR connections available on all my end points, I would go ahead and use them over RCA connections. But, like I said, not make or break issue there.

Your amp should still have + and - connections which go out to the speakers. That's different than the audio inputs which have unified connectors with RCA and XLR. RCA has two cables (signal/ground) while XLR has three cables (signal +, signal -, and ground) in them.
