Help with hooking up 2 subs

I would like to hook up two subs to my Yamaha HTR 6080 Receiver. I will be using a JBL L8400P alongside a 12" Audio Profile sub. The second is ported and sounds better with music while the JBL sounds better for HT. I will put them next to both towers to hopefully fill my basement with bass. I've got a Y connector with my shielded cable but don't use both ends since the manual says digital receivers do not require both the R&L connectors. I then went online to find a female to male coax cable to tee off the Y but couldn't find anything. Is there another way of doing this that I don't know of. I imagine some of you run a second amp for this but I'm not ready for this jump yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I recommend you put the subs together if your going to split the LFE signal. Use a Y-adapter to connect receiver from subwoofer out on back of receiver to subs.

Thanks for the link. I think I will be getting that adapter. Why do you reccommend that I keep them together (side by side).

I just thought about the speaker terminals. Would I be able to use speaker wire to connect them as well?

If I am correct. Keeping them side, by side they act as one subwoofer, and give more out-put.

Separating the subs in different location in the room is good for smoother frequency response with the room modes. This is also harder to get right.

With proper placement, and calibration a single subwoofer or 2 subs together can give excellent performance.

I also don't recommend you use 2 different subwoofers. JMO

As far as speaker wire for subs. I don't think so. RG6 75 ohm is good to use, and cheap.
