Help with home theater

My home is currently set up as two seperate media closets, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Because of this configuration I assume I will need two seperate receivers. Upstairs will have three seperate zones to run and downstairs will have two seperate zones to run. Will I need two seperate receivers or can anyone suggest something more cost effective. I currrently own two receivers Denon AVR 2307 and a Sony STR DE885.

2 receivers will work and would be necessary if you want multiple different sources goihg simulataneously. If you just want 1 source going through the house, you can get by with 1 receiver feeding a distribution system and volume controls/speakers in each zone.
