Hi guys, I bought a Harman Kardon receiver at a garage sale for $10 and want to have to fixed up, its in very good cosmetic condition the problem with it is it turns on ok and gives me a display but the display does not change if I press the buttons on the front and there is no sound from my speakers. I have attached ES20 JBL Speakers at 8Ohms. The power button lights up green and I have opened the case and the fuse's are ok.

Is there anything else I can do on my own before I have a technician look at it?

Take it back, or toss it.

Receivers are dirt cheap at the moment. Just pick-up a new one.

Check page 35 of the Operation Guide, it tells U how to reset the processor. The Operation Guide can be downloaded from www.harmankardon.com

The AVR75 was an excellant AVR in its day (1999), major drawback was no DTS. Also was built by Marantz.

Just my $0.01.. ;)

Got it fixed up

I dug deep and read through various posts and the AVR75 Manual troubleshooting but none helped then I noticed that a RF button was stuck in so I lodged it out and voila it worked like a charm. Clean powerful sound....for 10 bucks..

Thanks guys for your input
