Help with getting new universal player.

I presently have a denon dv2200 that i would like to upgrade.I also have tosh. HD player which is excellent.I'm looking into getting a better universal player that would be connected via component.I have alot of dvda/sacd and the denon just doesnt do it for me anymore.I dont know how the oppo would compare or the marantz vc6001,but would like some suggestions.Sound and video are important but more to the sound side.Basically whats out there that are steps above the denon dv2200.Budget would be 5-600.thanks

I currently have a Denon 3910. It is my third universal. I have had a Pioneer DV-45A and still have a Pioneer entry level universal in my bedroom. The 3910 blew away the Pioneer for sound and picture quality. I think used 3910's are in your price range.
