I'm setting up a new home theater and was thinking that I buy an inexpensive DVD player (e.g,. Denon DVD-1720) for now until the BlueRay HDVD wars are settled. Planning on using a Denon ARV-2807, Boston Acoustics or Monitor Audio 7.1 Speakers, Infocus IN76 projector and a Screen Innovations Theater Reference screen. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thks!

Have you checked these reviews? Some would serve your needs until the last update to HD/BlueRay:D

I would advise against the Denon 1720. I have last year's model of this player and it has the slowest response to commands I have ever experenced. Definitely not acceptable, and if I hadn't gotten it for free I would have taken it back.

Other good options would be the Sony DVP-NS75H, the Oppo OPDV971H, or the Panasonic DVD-S77. All of these are under $200.
