Help with Choosing the Right setup

Hey all!

I am very new to the forums and have been researching quite a bit on getting a home theater setup. After pouring over tons of information I pulled the trigger on a Pioneer SC-1222-K from Newegg for only $499 shipped. Was too good of a deal to pass up on what I have heard is such a good receiver.

My room size is currently L:20xW:12xH:7= 1680 with an Open wall about 6x7 leading out to the kitchen area. I listen to about 40% music and 60% Movies.

The Problem I currently have is trying to make sure that the speaker setup that am thinking about is really all that great. My current setup of choice is the 5.1 system of:

Center: Pioneer SP-C22
Fronts: Pioneer SP-FS52-LR
Side: SP-BS22-LR
Subwoofer: I am stuck Between 3 and am open for more suggestions. The 3 subs are Rythimik F12
HSU VTF 2 MK4
Outlaw LFM-1 EX.

I want to make sure these speakers are really all they say they are. I have been reading reviews and they seem like they are really good speakers. From what I have reserached to get something that much better I would have to pay quite a bit more cash $200-$400 +.

As for the Subwoofer I am open to suggestions, but from my research it seems like these subs are solid and will sound good in my area. My budget is about $1100 for speakers and a Subwoofer with a little a little wiggle room.

Any suggestions and advice would be very helpful as I am a complete Novice when it comes to home theater setups.

Thanks!

Why not build the system in pieces rather than all at once? You could get a very good pair of speakers for 1100 bucks. The Pioneers will be great for the average person, but building up over time let's you get a better system. At the very least just start out with a pair of Pioneers before you order an entire set. What if you don't like them? It's a lot easier to return 2 speakers than all of them.

Yeah I agree get the center and the 22 bookshelf and see how you like them. I really liked mine when I had them for only less than 3 weeks. I may rebuy them for my bday.

$1100? Easy... LOL
Ascend 200se's for the 5 speaker channels $616 in B stock... then...
for a sub, I would build this Dayton Audio 12" Ultimax Subwoofer and Cabinet Package 300-7096, by the time you buy the filling, spike feet, connectors, paint, and glue you will spend $305... Then for an amp I would get Crown XLS 1000 DriveCore Series Power Amplifier Flexible for Any Pro Audio Amplification Need 245-500 so total for the sub is $565 be a little over budget but, aren't we all....

Or I would go...Ascend CBM170s for the front 3, $626

and either $126 for these bics Newegg.com - BIC VENTURI DV62SIB Bic venturi dv62sib 6 5 bookshelf speakers Polk Audio New Monitor 35B Pair Home Audio Speaker - Newegg.com $110 {after coupon code EMCXPVM92 } or what ever surrounds you want, you can pick most anything, the pioneers, bA cs23's,
then this sub.... Newegg.com - kipsch total would be $1086 or so... newegg has the new customer 10 dollar discount if you use a different name since you already ordered your 1222k...

Ascend gives you a lot for your money, and they are very usable elsewhere when you upgrade, also they will love the power your 1222K pushes out... I will put my cbm170s against anything 3 times the price...
