Help With Basic Set Up - Theater Solutions TS516BT

Hello all,

I have just purchased my first home theater set up, and yes its kind of a cheapy one, but I am having trouble getting it to play.

The details:

Theater Solutions / We Bring the Theater to You! / In ceiling speakers and In Wall speakers

I have an LED TV that I am trying to hook this up to to play my Playstation 4 in surround sound. The playstation 4 is plugged in with HDMI.

When I hook up the system I can't get it to read the sound of my playstation. The tv reads it fine. I hook up the ps4 HDMI > TV HDMI in > TV Audio Out red/white > AUX/Audio Input on Speaker system. Is this the right place route my audio?

Another note: I hooked up the whole setup at a friends house, and was able to get the sound on these speakers to work, but only when the TV sound was also on, and would only be barely loud enough to match the tv volume, and dependent on the TV volume.

How do I get just the sound system on?

Sorry I am like a super noob, so it could just be a setting, or how its hooked up.

So, I think what is happening is that your tv is not converting the digital audio from your hdmi input to the analog audio your set requires.

That might be why at your buddies the sound was dependent on the tv's volume.

Not familiar with the PS4 but I know the Xbox had an option for rgb video outputs as well as the red and white analog audio outputs. I would try that first if it is an option. You might also try plugging in another audio source into the red/white audio in on your tv and then see if the audio will get to your systen that way.
