Hi Guys,
Newbie question below. I recently upgraded my old Yamaha HTS-5730 HTIB with an Onkyo SR605 and JBL Venue Series speakers ("Voice": Center, "Monitor": L-R and Surround L-R). I also got a Dayton 10" powered sub. I made use of the Audyssey mic to calibrate my speaker settings. This is what I see in terms of Speaker settings -
Center : 60Hz
Front L-R: 100 Hz
Surround: 80Hz
Subwoofer: 100Hz
I have been reading a lot of articles here as well as on AVS Forum and I am thoroughly confused! I am having an information overload! I set the Crossover freq settings on my Sub to max (180Hz) and my Gain is about 1/2 way up.
My question is - are my settings OK? I am having a nagging feeling that I am not getting the best sound. I have placed my sub at a left corner with respect to my listening area (this is about 2-3 ft from the other speakers). All my other speakers sit on my big Ikea Entertainment Unit, equidistant from each other. I havent yet placed the surround speakers behind the listening area, but will do so soon. The receiver shows most of the speaker distance levels as 9ft and the sub as 12 ft (using Audyssey). My living room (this is where I have the HT setup) dimensions are - 15'(L)x20'(W)x10'(H). My primary AV source is my new PS3 BD player or my HD cable box.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
