Hey everyone, audiophite question here.

I've got a Pioneer VSX-815-k. And I want loud speakers, like, loud! speakers lol.

Me and my freind usually take out ghetto sound systems and put them together and DJ parties, its awsome, but we just need something louder.

I have these: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7124756&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03044&id=1110264506003

Or these: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7124685&type=product&productCategoryId=cat03044&id=1109937802226

Now they say the wattage is 300-400 peak and 150-220rms, and my pioneer only does 100 per channel.

Now I'm pretty sure I need an amp, but uh, I know nothing about them, a little help?

/edit, I just noticed they are 4ohm impedence, while my pioneer is 8ohm, crap :/

You know what, I just want some loud speakers to use my pioneer with, but idk what to get.

DJ speakers

You are on the right track with horn loaded type speakers, but your receiver needs 8 ohm speakers and will quickly overheat with 4 ohms. Look for Klipsch or Cerwin Vega with the horn tweeters.

Also, look for efficiency specs of 93 dB @ 1w/1m or higher. Higher efficiency = louder with less power.

Since you already have the smaller speakers running off your receiver's amp, you could add an amp and the other speakers to the mix. As long as your receiver has pre-outs it'll work. You can pick up a Behringer EP2500 $330 from www.americanmusical.com
It would give you 2 x 650 WPC into 4 ohms.

Anyway, check out the web site. There's plenty of options if your looking to start DJ'n. Start looking at the pro gear.

Ok, my reciever has preouts for every channel, although I'll probly just use 4 of the 7.

Man, this stuff is exspensive.
