Upgraded my HT last year to PJ time and now somehow my old speakers feel "out-of-place". (bought my OR speakers around 1990) - Oh I still like the sound, they're just big&clumsy
Would like to buy a new 5.0 set to match my Yamaha RX-V2600 AVR and SVS-PB10ISD subwoofer.
Budjet
I could spend up to 3000EUR (~4000USD) to get me the new sysytem, but even less is fine by me.
Room
I attached a picture of my flat (apartment building) - livingroom is approx. 3,6m wide and 4,3m long (~15,5m<sup>2</sup>) Seen from screen the right side (with the big sofa) is a concrete wall to my neighbour - left side is a gypsum board light wall to my bedroom. Live in the first floor so nobody under me, luckily...
Speaker requirements - physical
Now the surrond speakers have to be on-wall (as listeners are quite close in the back right corner - seen from screen)
The front speakers would need to be thin (like 25cm or less) so that can easily open the door to my balkony.
Also as the room is quite small all of them will be placed close to corners
A low center would also be nice - as currently have it ontop of my SVS infront of my PJ-screen (And do prefear to have screen low)
Have no possibility for sorround back speakers (as kichen in the way) - but could someday install small Presense speakers infront up in the roof
Speaker requirements - usage
Let's say:
60% mixed TV - Series (CSI, West Wing, ...), news and some sports
20% DVD - films (quite board liking), but love musicals (Chicago, Moulin Rouge, Sound of Music, Lion King, Blues brothers, ... ... ...) - scifi and animated maybe next after musicals...
20% radio (2.1 ch) - Stuck in the 80's music (Dire Straits, Guns&Roses, Queen, Phil Collins, ABBA, ...)
Prefear to listen both quiet (nighttime) and loud (specially music where do alot of singalong and need the speakers to produce more dB's as I can)
