Help!!! Anyone with a solution .....short version - LCD flat screen - no reds when watching a DVD w/player hooked up via component cables. Eventually bought new cables and it fixed the problem (satellite looked fine, another dvd player didn't look any diff) but now about three days later - same problem - the reds are not there - anything that is supposed to be bright red on a dvd is orange. thanks!!!

Since your satellite looks fine, it isn't the TV ;)
And since the other DVD player looks fine too, it isn't that DVD player But, since your DVD player has problems, I suspect a cold joint in the red output plug, inside the player. It worked for a while when swapped cables because you jiggled the plug ;) but then went bad after a short while.

Replace the player or have someone who knows what to do, check it.

Or make sure your component cables are hooked up to the R/G/B inputs and not the composite inputs.

Looks like his red was fine for three days then back to the same old problem. So, I don't think he misconnected it ;)
But, you never know.
