Hi all:

I was wondering if anyone could provide a solution for the following problem?

I am trying to connect my laptop (Thinkpad X60s running XP) via a VGA cable to my Samsung plasma (Model PN50A450). I've set everything up, but for some reason the when I switch the TV source to "PC Input" everything has a tint of PINK.

I've tried EVERYTHING on the TV - adjusting the RGB colors (under white settings), contrast, brightness, changing the TV picture modes (dynamic, standard, gaming, cool1, cool2, etc etc), and everything I can think of under the sun. But NOTHING WORKS!

For some reason the Xbox 360 and HD Cable inputs work perfectly, and it's just the PC input which has this "pink/red" problem...

I would GREATLY appreciate ANY help!!!!

Thank you

Welcome to the forum!

Have you tried adjusting any of the video settings on the laptop, yet?

If it were me, I'd also try connecting the laptop to another one of the inputs on the TV that you know works well. It might be something with that input on the TV. If your laptop also has another video output (such as s-video), give that a try. The resolution will be lower and look worse, but at least you'll be able to check for the pink tint. If your laptop doesn't have another video output, then you might be able to try an inexpensive VGA to component video cable like this one from monoprice.com (it depends on your video card, so be sure to read the description of the product). They also sell VGA to s-video/RCA adapters, like this one here.

Just some thoughts. Perhaps someone else here has had the same issue and knows how to fix it.
