Hi,
I am considering buying Denon 3808CI, and get Intimus 5B Harmony HD from Aperion, the Receiver output is 130W/channel, is this the peak power or RMS?
the Intimus 5B Harmony, each speaker has max power of 200W.
do you think Denon 3808ci will be too weak for this speaker set?
should I get Intimus 4B Harmony SD instead (that has 150W each)?
I live in concrete penthouse and hard good floor, is Denon is good for that

Thank you

The 5Bs have a low 84 db sensitivity and are 6 ohm nominal, but since they'll be crossed over at 80 Hz in the receiver, the 3808 should be just fine.

IMO, for effective HT, be careful which Aperions you choose, due to very low sensitivity on some models. I didn't take time to google your possible choices, but check em out. I would consider 86db/w on the low side for sure, and I think one of them was as low as 82.

Its a solid, valued midlevel receiver. That said, one cannot say without also considering the decibel levels you want, with the distance you are to sit from speakers. Then there's that really big can of worms called the speaker's characteristics.

Uncovered concrete and hard floors? Denon is not going to be able to do much about, but then again neither will Onkyo, Yamaha, HK, Pioneer, et al.

I am thinking of taking KEF rather than Aperion, can I use iQ30 for front and surround, iQ60 for center, I may not choose PSW3000 Subwoofer as heard they have hum issue,
which would be good choice for subwoofer? anything that matches my dark apple would be highly rated

Thanks

It's RMS continuous power rating.

Regarding the KEFs, yes you can. For the sub, how much are you willing to spend? Is there a size constraint? And how large is your space?

My living room is about 4m X 6m long, but open to 2 other rooms and sky well, so it is spacy,
I am in canada, so I am considered Axiom as seeing good reviews, specs and Can $ rate at the moment. but I may choose sub from Paradigm (DSP 3100 or 3200). any ideas from SVS, I like SB12-plus, but look like SVS is new very company, so rather goes for company with more history.

Hope my Denon 3808ci works well with M3 from Axiom.

Thank you for any advices
