I have spent the last week reading a lot of the posts on this board. I currently have a small home theater (read nice tv with a reciever and crappy speakers). I am looking to upgrade some of the pieces but I have no idea in which order to do it. I currently have a Pioneer VSX-D811S reciever and a set of Phillips speakers that came in an old HTIB. I am looking to upgrade to a set of front floor standing speakers, center, surrounds, sub, and of course reciever if deemed neccesary (I really don't like the Pioneer so I will be replacing it at sometime). I would like to go with the H/K 435 as the reciever. I also figure that I would get the BIC DV84 floor speakers with the BIC center speaker. The sub I was figuring on the Cadence. Here are my issues:
Do I upgrade the Reciever first or get center, floors, and sub?
I can't get the BIC DV62si for the surround due to the size, unless they are hidden behind the couch - wife factor - so I'll need some pretty small surrounds.
I only have around $500 - $600 to start with, so I'll have to make the best of it. My thoughts are to get the Floors, center, and sub now - then get the reciever and surrounds later.
Thanks for your help.
