Help: Speaker Newbie - What Speakers?

Hello

I am a bit of a newbie with speakers. I have had a Bose Sound Dock and some cheap speakers in the past.

I am wanting to buy a new set of speakers. I want something that most importantly looks good (preferably not white) and has a crisp and non-distorted sound.

I am not looking to spend more than $120 (£60) on the speakers and will buy them either from eBay or an electronics shop online.

Can anyone recommend me any?

Edit: Forgot to add, I had a look and found:

Creative Inspire T3100 looked ok, how are they?

Well as everyone on this forum has said in the past: speakers are the most important piece of your system. I would try raising your bottom line and get a decent set of speakers. You are right that Ebay or buying used will be the most cost effective way to go.By the way I am glad you got rid of the bose stuff....

I hope that budget is not for 5 speakers. Are you just looking for your main L/R speakers?

Ok, I think that I need to spend a bit more, but really not more than $250 (£125).

These are to plug my MP3 player into and play music. Just in one room, I don't need anything really loud, but I want something that sounds and looks good.
