I have alot of knowledge when talking about home audio. but am pretty clueless when talking about the video side of home theater.
I recently purchased a Sony 50" Grand Wega lcd projection and I am looking for a good DVD player. I have been doing some research and have found that some people say it is not good to pair a DVD that upconverts to a television that has its own upconversion capabilities as mine does. The main problem that I have found is the amount of artifacts that may appear can sometimes make a movie unwatchable. I have also read some articles that say you can't go wrong with an upconverting DVD player no matter what kind of TV you connect it to. After talking to the guys at Circuit City I have decided that they are pretty clueless on the subject also.
Any tips or suggestions would be extremely appreciated.

I just got a new 50" Sony LCD projection TV too. I realized pretty quickly that a cheap DVD player was a waste for this TV. I ended up with a Pioneer Elite DV-45A. This universal player made my new TV come alive in my opinion. I'm am very happy with both.
