i just picked up a good deal on a onkyo nettunes device (NAC 2.3)...

from what i understand there is software you load on your pc and when that pc and the nettunes are networked together they communicate to each other streaming the mp3s to your stereo.

my main pc (a laptop on wifi) is running linux, but i have an old tower pc that i want to set up in my crawlspace as a music server and run the nettunes software.

my question is how can i remotely operate a windows pc using my linux machine? i want to keep the "music server" in the basement w/o a monitor, but when i rip new cds i would like to add them easly to the "music server"

You can install Terminal services client software on linux and connect to windows pc using windows standard RDP protocol (built-in into XP pro, but missing in home editions).
2nd best option is to install VNC server to windows machine and use vnc client on your laptop linux
