To make a long story short, my amp powers on but powers itself off in a few seconds. This is with nothing plugged into it??? Any ideas?

Thanks

Check for shorts across the speaker terminals...possibly a small wire or metal debris.

Be sure to disconnect all speaker output connections in addition to all source input connections. If it still does it, then you should contact the dealer who sold it to you.

Thanks

Unfortunately everything is disconnected from it. I will check and make sure there isn't a piece of wire or something in one of the connectors tonight when I go hom.

This receiver is a couple of years old and barely ever used. I finally got a nice Samsung 61" DLP and Def Tech speakers for it and now it doesn't work. Not a good day!

I've had it

Today I get home and for giggles turn it on, and it comes on! I fiddle with some settings but then notice that when I turn the volume up there is no sound. Turned it back off and was going to unplug and replug the front and center speakers back in (all banana plug). Turned it back on and 3 seconds later powered itself of again!

Back to square one! I think it's time for another receiver!
