Currently a yamaha owner and have no complaints with their products. Looking to upgrade for component inputs and system operation. Does anyone have any recommendations regarding these receivers. I know I could get the 2400 at a good price but it only has 2 component inputs. With a HD receiver and a XBOX, I would use them both right now. In the future would I need or want another input.
any thoughts would be appreciated.
also any ideas on a good remote that would allow one button to turn everything on. I know the yammy does macros is that good enough?
Thanks

If you already know that you will need a third component input in the future then obviously you should only look at the newer models that offer 3 inputs.

Nearly any decent universal remote can turn everything on with one button press. I use and recommend the Home Theater Master MX-500, but you could check out Harmony remotes too.

I am having the same delimna and am not finding much help it seems like everyone is deciding between the Yammy 1400-2500 and the Denons. So far I am understanding that the Yammy's aren't as bright as in the past. Which is good. and i love there reliability and they cost less than the Denons. BUT the Denon's have 3 component video ins, (future consideration) cuz like u i ise 2 already and if i want to add a DVR with component or xbox or digital media receiver, I will be screwed. On the other hand is the one input worth the $200- $400 difference now??? I am on the fence with this. What I would like to know is opinions on the sound quality of the Denon's vs. Yammys with movies and music. I am a 50/50 man. Also if i purchased a Denon i can get a refurb 3805 for $699 but it only has a 90 day warranty, and you need to buy the mic seperate for the auto calibration. So an extended warranty and mic may be near another $150. I also like that the Denon's come in silver, but that is minor. All that beign said I am confused???? So anyone with a great comprehensice answer to this ? will obvioulsy be helping a ton of people
