I have Paradigm Monitor 7 v.4 for my Fronts and Rears, the new CC-390v.5 center, SVS 20-39pci sub...Denon AVR-2805 receiver... Now my question??
Not factoring in price what would you get for surrounds..the ADP-370's or the new ADP-390's..what would work best with what I already have...thanks!!!

Hi bob thought I would offer you some advice. I see you have Monitor 7 v.4's for fronts and rears along with the new cc-390 v.5. So, I assume that you have a 5.1 set-up and are looking to add to rear /side surrounds if I understand your question properly. The cc-390 v.5 will NOT be fully timbre matched to your Monitor 7 v.4's because the v.5 Monitor line has just undergone a radical new design. Since, you already have the cc-390 my guess would be to listen to both the ADP370's and the ADP 390's then decise for yourself. The set you choose can be taken back and exchanged for the other set just in case you are not happy with how they sound at home. Either the 370 or the 390 will offer you a very diffusive soundfield thereby reducing localization. Personally, I like that effect whereas others prefer a more direct and thus more localized soundfield. If your preference is on watching movies then you should be fine with either one. However, if you listen to a lot of multi-channel music you would be better off with a direct radiating speaker in the rear. Of course, this is just MY opinion as I am no expert per se. But, in my own ht consisting of a 5.2 set-up I am using direct firing rear speakers and am quite happy. The reason being, is because I do NOT listen to multi-channel music at all-prefer my music in stereo. I do, however, watch a lot of dvds. The truth is, speaker preference is very subjective and only YOU can truly decide what sound YOU prefer. You are on the right track though and I wish you the best. Experiment some and demo as much as you can. That way you wil make a well informed decision. Good luck.:) :)

Actually I haven't even set the room up yet, I am in the drywall/carpet stage. I really am having trouble with what to do with the 2nd set of Monitor 7's (I bought four speakers, new in the boxes for a grand). I will use two for my fronts, and was going to use two for my surrounds, but was told I would be waaaay happier with actual Paradigm surround speakers for my surrounds. So now I have to use them for my rears (in 7.1). I am new to this but won't that be overkill?? Any suggestions?? Thanks

Sell them or use them in a different location in the house..

Im sure there would be many here that would be interested in them...
then you can get the right size speakers for your locations.
