Post up the model number of your RCA LCD and what brand your cable box is. What kind of cables do you have available? Are you going through a receiver or straight from the cable box to the TV?

OK, I understand from PM that you don't have a cable box. Are you sure the TV has a receiver built in or is it just a monitor that requires a cable box receiver?

You should be able to plug your cable directly into the tv and receive some unscrambled digital channels. However, to receive most channels and all but a few HDTV channels, you need an HD cable box and you need to suscribe to HDTV service from your cable company. Do you plan to use cable or satellite? For now, just hook your coaxial cable tv into the coax input labled cable/antenna in. You will need to run the setup program so the tv will search for available channels.

Without being part of the PM, I don't know what you have connected.

Do you have a satellite receiver connected to the TV? Do you have an antenna connected to it? The TV has built in tuners, but you'll need something connected to it to get a picture.

EDIT: Never mind. I see that Jim is getting you all set up.

Also, are you sure the cable outlet in the wall location is active? Is that where you had your other tv hooked up and working? Sometimes there will be a jack in the wall that is not connected to the cable service.

cannot get any picture just a dvd
No picture with a plain video cable, S-video, component video, or HDMI?
Have you selected the correct INPUT? Like Video 1, Video 2, etc?

Do you have any friends or neighbours who can help you with this?

You must have cable service for this to work. This guide will help you set up and watch Cable TV, Cable TV Setup Guide
