Help please! Can I place my soundbar above wall mounted TV?

Hi all

I'd like to mount a Yamaha ysp2200 soundbar above my wall mounted TV. Given the depth of the soundbar I think it's going to be tidier if I mount the bar above the TV (not a mountable bar so may need to use a small floating self - unless anyone knows better option?).

This would result in the soundbar bar sitting 1.8m above the floor (ceiling is 2.4m above floor). Sofa is 3m away from TV. Is this likely to detract from the sound quality? I've read conflicting things about pros and cons of soundbars higher and whether to angle it down or not.

Welcome.

It seems mounting it below is out of the question. Mount it above and angle it down. While soundbars are better than built in TV speakers, they are not meant to replace high quality speakers.

Just hope you won't get a sore neck with the tv so high.
