i need help. my 60 in" mit still works but its time to step up. after hours and hours of asking people and online research it seems led/dlp is the best bang for the buck. i have picked the new sammy hl67a750 which i found on sale for 1939.00 this weekend only! at a site called "on sale". i need a 72' hdtv to not lose size but this 67" only causes me to lose 2" of hieght and gain 11" width. iam i doing the right thing?

id look at a led unit before buying one. are you just looking for size vs cost or do you have a budget?

size counts,tee hee

i only want to spend 2-2.5k and not lose the size iam used to. all the articles i read say 1. samsung is a good brand, 2.led engine is brighter, lasts longer than the fan/bulb method and makes dlp the best pic compared with lcd/lpd. i have seen the dlp mit 65 and 73 next to c/p sets and they are just barely not as good, but you can tell, but iam not going to buy a 48 - 52 lcd they are tiny to me. nor am i going to pay 6500-8000 for a 60-72 t.v thats if it stood alone in the room you would never know the difference. so whats a mother to do?

1.yes my refrigiator sized 200lbs 60" mit must go. you know what decided it for me? i just bought my first comp/cam and on my computer screen it looks twice as good as it does on my big mit. everyone is saying this new light engine is everything but resurrecting dlp.ps. another thing i noticed watching lcd's side by i could not tell the pic difference between 720/1080

well from owing the mistu 57 diamond dlp, it was is anawesome picture and im sure others here that have the set currently would agree. I went from the 57" to a 50" plasma panel and have no regrets. I think with the new display and how far the quality of larger displays have come, you will be happy if its a small step down, again reviews are nice, but see for yourself and talk to people that have and know.

Most of the reviews I've read also give the Samsung DLPs high marks except for the new LED units which get dinged for higher black levels and lower contrast ratios when given a decent calibration. This a new unit so they may have improved on it and there aren't any reviews on these new units yet. If your room isn't totally dark and only an average calibration is done on the set, it may be what the Dr. ordered. Only you knows what your expectations are.
