Help: No DTS on my HK AVR 300

I recently purchased a Sanyo Blue Ray and cannot get a 5.1 or dts signal when connected to my Harmon Kardon AVR 300 (purchaced 2003). I have tried optical and coax cables. I always picked up dts when available on my dvd players in the past.

Is it possible that my HK AVR 300 obsolete and not compatible with Blue Ray?

Thanks,

Mark

It should still work, you just have to configure the player to pass them as bitstream rather than PCM. Even the new formats on Blu-ray should work, they will just be downconverted to something that your AVR can decode.

How much did you get the Sanyo for if you don't mind?

thanks. will configure the blue ray for bitstream. I picked up the Sanyo @ Best Buy (Toronto) for $299 CDN.
