Help Needed Receiver Amp Selection!

This is a multi-part question so bear with me.

I currently have a denon 2807 running my home theater system, I want to replace this with either an amp and pre-pro, or a kick *** receiver (quality above denon 380X series) I'm even willing to do seperate 2 and multi channel systems as a last resort. I THOUROUGHLY WANT TO BE SATISFIED WITH THIS PURCHASE SO I WOULD RATHER SPEND MORE FOR LONGEVITY

Paradigm Studio 100s (paradigms all around)
Boston acoustic VR962 (lynnfields will prbably sell these)
Project RMX (tunrtable)
Panasonic BD30
Xbok, Apple TV, HD TIVO (thx one)

My concerns in order are 1) Two channel sound quality for my vinyl addiction 2) Cost 3) Home theater sound quality, i want the latest surround formats and HDMI switching with a receiver or pre-processor. 4) hdmi 1.3 switching and latest surround formats


So far I have been considering the entire Rotel line (both receivers and seperates) my concern with Rotel is they never have the latest HDMI or surround formats. I have also heard I may do better on proce

I am considering Emotiva,great price and very popular with audioholics. My concern here is that it seems te majority of the companies kudos come from audioholics as well as many of the referenced awards their products received.

Also Denon 380X series.

Im open to any set up!

Emotiva amp

Your current receiver has a good pre-amp stage and the latest HDMI features. Consider adding an amp like the Emotiva XPA-5 (5 x 200 Watts for $800) for use with the new speakers.

Emotiva will have their new Pre-pro with all the latest HDMI features out in June. An integra pre-pro is currently avaialble with all the HDMI and video scaling features for about $1400.

I think the Denon AVR-3808 would be great for 2Ch Music and 7.1HT for $1K:

I forgot to mention my budeget is preferably around 2K, but I will do over $2,500 if I feel like I'll be satisfied for the next 5 to 10.

Does anyone currently use a seperate 2 and 5/7 channel system. Are 2 channel systems defacto better (sound quality wise) than HT systems?

Last is there a way to uyse my paradigm 100s with both a 2 and 5 channel system

Take a look at my sig.

The only way you can use the same speakers in a Dedicated 2Ch and 5.1HT system is to use either 3 stereo preamps or use 1 stereo preamp that has a "HT-Bypass loop" plus a pre-pro (example is RSP-2 preamp + UMC-1 pre-pro).

But most people think that these new red hot receivers will sound great even in 2Ch Stereo.
