I have an Onkyo tx-sr606 and a new Sony bdp-s590. I can't get any bass to play when I play an analog cd or when I stream mp3s from my computer through Serviio. I've tried everything I can think of and I'm not getting anywhere.
I know my sub works because a I get great bass out of my old squeezebox that is still hooked up to my receiver.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Drew

What mode are you listening in? How is it connected?

I've looked at your manual but didn't find a special setting as some Onkyo have "double Bass" for stereo recordings to send bass to the sub as well. The manual shows the sub is supposed to be active in stereo mode.
Have you level matched all your channels? Is the sub active with a BluRay disc?

Did you buy the 590 new, if so have you messed with the settings? If you have, I suggest you do a reset to factory default and go from there. Better still, reet the Onkyo processor to factory default as well. I have a BX-59, identical to the 590, and I have the normal bass whether I use it to play CD, USB drives, or stream from PC. Sony players do have a lot of settings in different places of the menu so my best guess is that something were not set correctly.
