Okay, here is what is up. I turn the tv on and everything seems really bright or high in contrast. Its like the white is intensified or something. If I turn the contrast all the way down in the settings, it makes a slight improvement but not much. Turning the brightness down doesnt do much more than darken the stuff I can see already but still very bright display.
I dont know if this is relevant but the real bright display happens only when the "color Temp" setting is on high (13000k), when its on medium(9300K), everything is really blue, when its on 6500D its very red, and at low(6500K) its all yellow.
MAXENT MX-27X1 (27 in)
Thanks -Jeff
ps. When i press the menu button and the menu screen comes up. it doesnt seem like thats all bright like everything else, seems regular.
heres some pics to show you whats going on

Try doing a reset, you should find it someplace in the manual. If that doesn't help, it looks like it's going to need to get looked at.

Is this a TV?
You need a calibration disc. 6500 is the right temp. Then you need to adjust all the 3 primary to the right intensity as well, gray scaling, a bunch. 13kK is insane as is the 9300K.
Serious viewing needs serious calibration.

i think i need the service code to do that, because i cant change the red blue or green alone theres only like the color, contrast, brightness blah blah

What Mtrycrafts said! 13K is too high. Set it to the lowest color temp and then calibrate it. There are normally only two color adjustments on ALL TVs - color and tint, and in all but a few cases those are sufficient to calibrate your set yourself. Get Digital Video Essentials or Avia and calibrate it. The calibration test patterns will tell you whether the set is working correctly or not - if you can't properly calibrate it with the standard patterns, something is wrong.
