The biggest difference between the two is the 615 has a built in HD tuner and accepts cable cards. The 615 probably has a better screen that reflects less and will make the picture easier to watch in daylight. Both are excellent sets. :) IMO Mitsubishi makes the best CRT based RPTV's.

Is it worth it?

Thanks for the reply! The difference in price between the two is just over $500. Is the built in HDTV tuner worth that? I'm thinking maybe not.

the HD tuner may not be worth it but take a VERY good look at the screen. I would have much rather paid another $ 500 if I didn't have such a reflection ! in anything other than near dark, I can see everything in the room in my screen and in normal daylight, I can almost shave.

I just picked up a 42 inch Sony LCD for the bedroom, which is where I'll be watching most of my movies from here on out...

Have you thought about removing your protective screen Leprkon?

I just had my 57" Sony (KDP-57WS655) ISF Calibrated Tue. and he removed the protective cover along with some other tweaks like linning the cabniet with black felt to prevent reflections; it made a huge difference! I was going to go with the Sony model that did not have the built in tunners & cable card but chose to go with the higher end model because it did have a much better screen. I have a lot of windows, so many that I am looking at getting them tinted, and still had a problem with glare on my screen. Since the protective screen was removed there is absoultly no glare to speak of, even during the day or with the lights turned on. You do have to be extra careful with the screen if you remove the protective cover, but the worse case you would have to replace it and they cost $125, they are easy to replace.

No, but I have seen them react to a subwoofer!

I have two cats myself, one was a feral and the other is still a kitten. They have been very good about leaving my speakers & TV alone, the screen is up a little to high to make a good scratching post.

Do yours go crazy when watching movies at volume? The low freq. signals set mine off; they start running arround the house all crazy like! I wanted to get a cylnder subwoofer but those things look to much like a scratching post.

The screen without the protective cover is fragile but my setup has been working out well so far.
