help me please before i throw my amp out of the window?

hi guys have a harman kardon AVR 340 and cant get any sound through the optical input from my bt vision box been trying for days and have not got the manual for it any more as its a few years old can anyone tell me do i have to do to get it to work any help would be greatfull thanks..

Have you checked HK's website for the manual?

Have you tried another optical cable?

Let's start there, and put the amp down. Or if you are going to throw it out, make sure the window is open first. Broken glass = bad.

More suggestions. Do you have another device with optical input? Hook up that Visionbox to make sure it's not the problem.

Have you always had this AVR? Maybe it uses assignable inputs and that optical in is assigned to a different input.

Throw enough sh*t at the wall and eventually something will stick, so try everything. Throw sh*t, not the receiver.

the cable is has a red light at the end i think its the amp settings but i no not a bean about this stuff,, I have a 50inch plasma with monitor audio silver l/r/ center speakers a REL q100e sub AND 2 MONITOR SILVER RSFX rear speakers old kit but it sounds awesome when the man installed it in my last house but know i put my tech hat on and now??????? its does not work!!

Do you have a way to verify that the BT vision box is working correctly?
